I'm back!

Guess who's back...back again...Jacqui's back...tell a friend...LOL! After a long break, I've started scrapping again. I will not be designing again anytime soon, I'm sorry to say, but this time of year is very busy and after the holidays I hope to find an actual job. It's been a great year, I spent several weeks volunteering and taking a class in my town learning some retail skills and working at a community-run thrift shop and a literacy center's snack shack learning to use cash registers and how to deal with customers, it was quite an experience let me tell you! My husband and I did a lot of traveling, we lost, gained, and lost some cats and kittens and I made some new friends. I'm feeling pretty blessed =)

Now, for some pages, and not just any pages, Christmas pages!! Do your eyes deceive you?? (This will have to be explained some other time, it would take to long now.)

I've been enjoying all the lovely goodies from the Blog Train Blog's December train and just had to scrap with them all. If you download them all together, you basically get a giant co-ordinated mega-kit with all sorts of fun scrapping possibilities. I would love to join one year, it seems so exciting!

Well, enjoy my new pages and I hope you all have been having a good year. I have some exciting news to tell you all in my next post, get ready!

Busy, busy, busy & computer problems

I've been a bad blogger! It seems I never have time lately to do much in the way of scrapping or creating new products but I just wanted to write a quick update to say that I'm moving back out west again in a few days and things have been hectic so I haven't forgotten this blog or my store by any means, I'm just crazy-busy lately with packing and getting things ready for my big move.

My other reason for not doing much in the way of creating new products is that I seem to be having trouble with my graphics card as of late and keep getting what's called the White Screen of Death where the whole screen turns white and freezes and no matter what I click or type, I can't do anything to fix it unless I shut off my computer and start it again. I thought I had fixed it this afternoon by downloading a new driver for my graphics card and things were fine for awhile when my computer suddenly froze again, right in the middle of a Photoshop project, before I could even save it! Needless to say I was NOT happy. The only slightly good thing about it was that my screen didn't turn white, it just got stuck. I will have to have my DH have a look at it in a few days. *Sigh*

I will update again once I am unpacked. This is an important move and the computer world can just go on the back-burner for awhile until I've dealt with more important things in my non-online life.

Thanks for understanding and I'll be back in awhile!

Road Trip elements

Here is my newest kit, "Road Trip," inspired by taking road trips my entire life with my mom and later with my husband. Ah, all those great times riding an open road with the music blasting and the windows rolled down!

This kit contains 42 elements, (300 dpi) can you believe it? I had so much fun making this kit that I may even post an add-on kit later on. I'll be posting the papers sometime in the next day or two. Enjoy!

Fresh Spring Morning elements

The month of March to me is ugly for the most part and boring lol. When I used to live up in New England, March is usually when it finally stopped snowing so all the grass was dead, soggy and brown, there are no buds or leaves on the trees yet and nothing much interesting used to happen in March back when I was in school. Even down south where I live now it's gray and windy outside and just...blah. So to cheer everyone up, I've made a new kit!

Here are the matching elements to my Fresh Spring Morning papers at 300 dpi. Contains: 2 rick-racks, 1 tag, 1 berry branch, 2 word bracelets, 1 bead scatter, 4 frames, 1 torn edge, 3 flowers, 1 jeweled butterfly, 1 bird, 1 bunny, 1 snail sticker, 1 love word art, 2 quote word arts, 1 birdhouse, 1 stained glass window, 1 ivy, 1 flower in a pot, & 2 ribbons. (I think that's it.) No drop shadows.

I'm pretty proud of this kit! I had fun with the colors and the ribbons are photos I took this morning. Also, I'm happy because I learned how to make rick-rack using this simple tutorial. I hope everyone enjoys using this kit, I know I enjoyed making it =D

Painted Edge Overlays

Here are six painted edge overlays. Basically you just lay one of these on top of your layout to make the edges really stand out. I think it would look good on an altered art page or just something a little bit grungy, perhaps with photos of your kids doing messy artwork lol. Have fun with these! Three are glittered paint and the other three are made to look like thick, wet paint. Enjoy!

Weathered Wood Caps, Numbers & Extras

Someone asked if I'd post the numbers & capitals, so I decided to make them and some punctuation for you all.

As for the style, I have Photoshop CS3 and I'm almost positive people with older versions can't use it. I will have to see if I can figure out a way for those of you who have older versions to use my styles before I can post them, otherwise I'll probably get a lot of comments saying "Help! It won't work" or something lol.

Drop shadows are for the preview only, and these are 300 dpi.

Weathered Wood alpha

So I've been in the mood for making alphas lately. I actually made 2 sets this morning but I'm debating posting the other one, maybe some other time.

Eventually I'll upload & post the styles for these in Photoshop, but I have CS3 and I don't know a way to make it so all Photoshop users can use them. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me. =)

Here are all 26 letters, lower-case only this time in weathered wood, kind of like a wooden garden bench that's been outside and rained on a lot, lol. I love collecting alphas for paper scrapbooking, especially wooden ones.

Drop shadows are for the preview only, and these are 300 dpi.

Cut Out Paper Alpha

I was playing around with the font "Ghost Town", which, I believe, is the font for a game on Facebook of the same name. Anyhow, I remember when I was a kid I used to cut out things from paper, sometimes even drawing letters and then cutting them out and pasting them on artwork. Then I thought, what if the letters looked like they were sort of messily cut out, like a kid would and a little bit crumpled? I remember my early artwork being quite messy lol.

Anyway, here are all 26 letters, capitals only. I might make lowercase and numbers, or I might not. I'm in the process of making a similar alpha set with stitched borders around the letters to kind of make them stand out more. I hope everyone likes these, I think they're kind of cute and certainly unique.

Back in middle school, I used to collect all sorts of buttons, pins, and what they're now called, thanks to the movie Office Space, "pieces of flair." You know, the kind the servers wear on their uniforms at certain restaurants. They look cute added to scrapbook pages, especially for kid's pages.

Anyway, since it's late and I need to get to bed, I decided to post this small offering. Tomorrow I'm going to make bright colored flairs, then some with patterns, and finally some with sayings & quotes.

Lavender Haze

Here is a very purple kit perfect for little & and a bit older girls...or any age really! I had lots of fun making this kit, trying to think up element ideas. Plus, purple is one of my favorite colors.

I got the name from some lyrics in a Jewel song called, "Do You?" The line goes, "to you it's all roses, it's a lavender haze..." Plus I also like the Jimi Hendrix song "Purple Haze" so the title's just kind of all mish-mashed in there.

It contains 25 lovely elements & 5 papers all in 300 dpi. Drop shadows are just for the preview.

Life & love word art

I come bearing my first word art set! It features ten word art transparent .pngs using life and love-type quotes. I especially enjoyed making the "word circles." I don't know what they're actually called but anyways.

All are grayscale so they can be recolored to fit your needs. I really hope everyone likes them, I know I had a lot of fun making them.

Here's a kit to make fun, wintry layouts. I really, really apologize for a problem with this kit, I'm sorry. I was working on the preview image and I accidently resized many of the elements so they might be too small for a 300 dpi page. This set might be better used as a tagger kit, 72 dpi or so, again, I'm really sorry. They're definitely still usable though!

My first post here!

Well, I suppose I need to make an introduction. I taught myself Photoshop in 1997 when I was thirteen, mostly to make my digital photos look better. Then I started playing around with it just for fun and I soon became a Photoshop addict. Before I started digi-scrapping, I was making digital collages, which is similar. Basically I just extracted backgrounds from photos and then layered them in different ways.

I actually started paper-scrapping first, but it became frustrating because scrapbooking supplies are just so expensive. So I thought, what if I just make it look like it was a traditional scrapbook page? It wasn't until later I realized there was such a thing as digi-scrapping! Now I'm constantly combing different blogs and sites for new scrap goodies, and, recently, I've started making my own.

I'm really excited to share my work and start making and sharing scrap kits. I just finished my very first kit today and I hope to post it in the next day or two. I'd love to know what everyone thinks of it!

Now to show some of my work.

I made 2 digi-scrap page I'd like to share here. (Not all of my pages are pink & girly though! LOL)

I'm not really new to digi-scrapping but I'm new to Blogger so this is pretty interesting to me. I guess for now I'll use this thing to post my scrap pages.

There will be plenty more to come!

I also made the graphics for my blog's layout. Unfortunately, I can't remember where elements and things are from in my earlier scrap pages but in the future I'll try to credit people for their hard work.
